The
IT Strategic Plan was developed as a blueprint to implementation
new technology at AVTA. This document serves as a guideline to decision
makers for prioritizing and procuring advanced technologies for the management
of our transit system.
The
Ten-Year Capital Budget Plan has
been prepared as part of the long-range plan process undertaken by AVTA in
2004. The recommendations in the long-range plan have a strong effect
on the capital budget, since service enhancements and performance improvements
require additional vehicles, technology, and facilities.
The evaluation and analysis of transit performance is becoming increasingly common at transit systems of all sizes. Performance monitoring is a tool to evaluate service and identify strategies to improve performance of the individual routes that comprise the transit system. A monitoring system provides objective information to the transit staff and Board of Directors that can be used to evaluate transit service performance
To maximize efficiency, AVTA contracted with RNR Consulting to perform an analysis of procedures and policies used by the agency in day-to-day operations. The results of their studies, and recommendations for improvement, are explained in this report.
The purpose of this report is to translate the high-level strategic planning policy effort into a long-range transit plan. The strategic plan developed an accepted vision of the future, a vision statement, and a mission statement, and also proposed AVTA's role in the community and the possibility of innovative service provision.
A project team conducted an intercept survey of riders at selected locations. Trained surveyors conducted face-to-face surveys with riders as they waited for their bus at one of three locations.
To gain greater insight into travel patterns, attitudes toward transit and AVTA, and reasons for non-use of transit among Antelope Valley residents who commute to work or school outside the Antelope Valley , AVTA per f ormed 200 telephone surveys with residents living within service boundaries.
The purpose of this report is to develop a coordinated
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)/software plan to guide future technology
purchasing decisions. This study will result in a coordinated approach
to the decision-making process, funding, and implementation of new technologies
that would benefit AVTA.
This report will provide you with contact information to local organizations
that provide specialized transportation.
