Subject: AVTA aids Metrolink

AVTA NEWS UPDATE:

To assist Metrolink in the wake of this morning’s train derailment, the Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) has dedicated 9 commuter coaches to transporting passengers from Union Station to Burbank Station. AVTA buses are leaving Union Station every 20 minutes.

AVTA buses will serve MetroLink’s needs until AVTA’s regularly scheduled commuter departure times occur. AVTA does not anticipate any interruption to its services. AVTA will honor Metrolink passes for passengers boarding at Union Station for return trips to Palmdale and Lancaster. AVTA will distribute updates as the situation changes.

Metrolink’s statement regarding the incident is attached.

AVTA management extends their sympathies to all involved.
