AVTA to expand services in Lake Los Angeles

LANCASTER - A recent study prepared by the Antelope Valley Transit Authority’s consulting firm, has identified the need to increase AVTA services in the communities of Lake Los Angeles and Littlerock.

“The Antelope Valley Transit Authority serves all members of the community by providing vital links to places of employment, schools, services and medical care,” states Supervisor Michael Antonovich.  “We must continually look for new ways to enhance the system as the population in Littlerock and Lake Los Angeles continues to grow.”

Antonovich supports increased AVTA services to the unincorporated areas in the East Antelope Valley. “It is imperative that we keep improving access to public transportation services for our residents,” he adds.

To better serve the transit needs of these communities, AVTA will provide feeder service to Route 9 for Lake Los Angeles residents who currently do not have access to fixed-route bus service. Local circulation will be provided for passengers traveling within Lake Los Angeles and inter-community service will be provided for passengers traveling between Lake Los Angeles and Littlerock.

In a series of public meetings, representatives from AVTA will be on hand to explain the added services and answer questions. You may attend any of the following meetings; May 13, 2:00pm at the Palmdale Senior Advisory Committee, Chimbole Cultural Center, Palmdale; May 13, 7:00pm at the Lake L.A.Town Council meeting,  Living Springs Foursquare Church, 40112 170th Street East, Suite E, Lake Los Angeles; May 20, 6:30pm at the Littlerock Chamber of Commerce Grange Hall on Avenue T-8; May 21, 11:30am at the Palmdale Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, Chimbole Cultural Center, Palmdale.
