North County TRANSporter

The North County TRANSporter is the "Gateway to LA" for residents of the Antelope Valley. This midday bus service connects A.V. residents to the Santa Clarita Valley making trips "down below" more convenient than ever before. The service offers ten trips each weekday between the Palmdale Transportation Center and the Newhall Metrolink Station, with additional connections to the recently opened McBean Regional Transit Center. The TRANSporter will also make stops at the Vincent Grade/Acton Station upon passenger request (northbound trips only). The midday schedule gives AV residents the option to travel outside of peak commute hours, providing much more freedom and limitless travel possibilities to Santa Clarita and the Los Angeles area. The North County TRANSporter was made possible through funding secured by Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich, and the Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) has been operating it for two years. The service has proven so successful that AVTA will continue to offer the TRANSporter as a regular part of its transit operations. The AVTA provides two commuter buses for the TRANSporter service, which are easily recognizable on the 14 Freeway with bold lettering on either side of the bus identifying it as the TRANSporter.

The route is currently serving more than 1,000 passengers per week and is a vital part of AVTA's transit services.
