Executive Director/CEO
On November 23, 2021, the Antelope Valley Transit Authority’s Board of Directors unanimously appointed Martin Tompkins as the transit agency’s new executive director/CEO. Mr. Tompkins previously served as COO/senior director of operations and planning for the transit agency.
Mr. Tompkins has more than 35 years of experience in the transit industry. He began his transit career as a bus operator and quickly rose in responsibility. He has served as a general manager for over 25 years at two major transportation corporations.
Mr. Tompkins has worked with AVTA off and on since 2005, when he was with TransDev. He rejoined the agency in 2019.
