AVTA 's Holiday Drive Thru Grocery and Toy Giveaway

Antelope Valley Transit Authority Rallies Local Sponsors for a Holiday Drive Thru Grocery and Toy Giveaway on December 16, 2023.

On Saturday, December 16th, 2023, Antelope Valley Transit Authority, in partnership with a team of generous sponsors, will host the 2023 Holiday Drive Thru Grocery and Toy Giveaway.
"AVTA is committed to partnering with the Antelope Valley community each holiday season in this effort to bring joy to those residents in need," said AVTA Board Chairman Marvin Crist. "The AVTA board of directors, management, and staff, joined with the City of Lancaster, City of Palmdale, and many generous organizations, strive to make a real difference for A.V. families in need. We are all thrilled to be able to serve our residents in this manner.”
Turkeys, holiday meal supplies, groceries, toys, and clothing will be distributed at the AVTA Bus facility located at 42210 6th Street West, Lancaster, CA 93534 from 10 AM to 3 PM (while supplies last). Residents of the Antelope Valley communities can drive through and pick up a turkey or ham, and other holiday groceries, plus toys or clothing for children from the AVTA Stuff-a-Bus program.
Toy collections were organized and staffed by AVTA Stuff-a-Bus team and the 2023 participating charities: the Boys & Girls Club of the Antelope Valley, JustServe, Valley Oasis, Kids Feeding Kids Through Agriculture, Child and Family Guidance Center, and the South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES).

The Drive Thru Grocery Giveaway event is made possible by the generous donations from Antelope Valley Transit Authority, City of Lancaster, City of Palmdale, A.V. Chevrolet, Teamsters Local 848, Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Boosters, Waste Management, IBEW, Vallarta Supermarkets, the L.A. Regional Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Sygma Foods, Sysco Foods, and US Foods.

¬"I’d also like to recognize the generosity of our Stuff-a-Bus sponsors, such as Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Boosters, the City of Lancaster, the City of Palmdale, AV Transportation Services, RIDE/BYD, Duke Engineering, High Desert Medical Group, Complete Coach Works, Crazy Otto's Diner, DP Commercial Brokerages, Farmers Insurance, Kaiser Permanente, Mission Bank, New Flyer/MCI, RentSource, Vinsa Insurance Associates, Local Union 416 and 433 Iron Workers, continued Chairman Crist.  “We also want to thank, Avail Technologies, AVEDGE, Bayshore, MV Transportation, OpSec Security, Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth, Toneman Development, Weideman Group, A-Z Bus Sales, Antelope Valley Chevrolet, Palmdale Regional Medical Center, Palmdale Elementary Teachers Association, Planet Bids, Waste Management, High Desert Broadcasting, and Vehicle Technical Consultants, whose contributions helped make AVTA’s Stuff-a-Bus a huge success."

For safety and orderly distribution reasons, only drive thru service is available. Children do not need to be present for parents to receive toys.
